Aranet <> Trym Overview
Trym's partnership with Aranet allows sensor condition data to integrate into Trym's location dashboards per preset zone so you can steer your crop strategies to your desired needs.
This integration and can be used in tandem with measurements from your grow log and facility dashboards, stored historical data to cross reference with predicted harvest/cultivar analytics, and conditions graphing across Mobile and Web platforms.
Commissioning your Aranet Basestation
When you receive your Aranet equipment, a meeting will be set up to commission any new basestation even if you have an existing basestation and are receiving another. Be prepared to provide or access the information below:
Locate device Serial Number and SSID on the Basestation *
Decide whether ethernet or wifi connection is best for connection
If Wifi is chosen, be prepared to connect to a call with our staff to complete the process on another device separate from the device being used to connect the Basestation to the internet as it will drop the wifi signal from the device. ^
If Ethernet is chosen you can stay on the same device in the meeting. *
Once connection to the base station is made, be prepared to review your wifi information (Router Name and Password) to connect the base station to the wifi.
We will then set up an IP address to connect the basestation to on your network.
Please save the IP addressed assigned to your Aranet basestation as that is the log in URL for access to your basestation on your device.
* Locate the SSID and S/N by using the depiction below (2.1) of the label that will be psychically on the Aranet Basestation.
* Ethernet connection IP address: 192.168.205.100

Connecting to your Aranet Basestation Gateway
After commissioning your basestation if you need to access to your basestation to pair sensors, rename or move sensors, set grow media configurations, and update firmware, you can access it with the instructions below.
You will want to ask these questions to find the best way to connect to your base station Gateway.
How is your base station configured? Ethernet or Wifi Mode?
-
Ethernet
If you are configured via ethernet, meaning you see the Ethernet cable plugged into base station and the LAN light is orange on the base station, then you can connect to the Basestation Gateway via ethernet connection and a laptop using IP 192.168.205.100
-
Wifi
To reach the base station gateway, connect a laptop to the base station access point. The SSID should be Aranet-xxxx, where xxxx is the ID of the base station you're trying to connect to. Open a browser and navigate to your IP address for the gateway.
Do you know the IP address of the Gateway?
-
Ethernet
192.168.205.100
-
Wifi
Preset set static IP during commissioning (Save IP during commissioning or reach out to our support team to locate your static IP address)
Once those access points are determined, you connect your to your Aranet Base Station to the Internet via Wifi or Ethernet Cable using the information from the questions above.
Pairing new sensors to Aranet Base Station
Start by accessing your basestation gateway
From the left hand menu choose Sensors
Then select the button labeled Pair Sensor
Remove and Replace and/or add a battery to the sensor
-
Once the light blinks on the sensors microchip and the sensor ID on the physical sensor populates under the Add Sensor tile in the basestation gateway you can name your sensor * and set configuration details by clicking on the new sensor tile as needed and click the disk icon to save.
*Here are some best practices regarding sensor renaming and moving:
If you expect to move sensors around frequently, naming the sensor something non-location specific will help you assign them to zones easier and not get confused or require renaming each time in the base station.
Come up with a naming convention like A1, B6, C2, or Red 1, Green 5 etc, that way you can just look at the sensor and say, 'oh, I have sensor K5 and it goes in room 4 zone front'. Rather than 'oh I have sensor Flower rm 3 and it's going into Flower rm 2 so I need to rename it in Aranet'. You'd only have to rename the zone to match the sensor in Trym which is only one system.
Any kind of simple identifying convention is helpful. One idea is to buy different colors of electrical tape and mark 1, 2 or 3 stripes. You could then have red 1, red 2, red 3 easily identifiable across a room. The goal is to keep the sensors standardized, and just rename the zones if needed. You can always include the sensor ID like A4 in the zone name too.
In summary, try to keep sensor names basic, easy to identify (physically and in name), and location agnostic. This will make it easier to update them in zones, or add to the zone name for a quick cross-reference.
Changing Aranet Sensors to pair with a Different Base Station
Login to your Aranet Basestation gateway
Go to Sensor --> Setting and Delete the old sensor from its current Base Station
Take out the battery from the sensor or cycle power (on<>off)
Go to the new Base Station in the Aranet Cloud
Updating Firmware in the Aranet Base Station Gateway
-
To update Aranet firmware on the basestation:
Login to the Aranet Basestation UI
Select System from the left hand menu
Select the Firmware tab
Choose "Install" to update
To add sensors that have been paired in the Aranet Base Station Gateway into Trym please review the related article below.
