Connecting RFID/Barcode Scanner in Trym Overview
RFID and Barcode Scanning is an easy way to manage your plant inventory via Harvesting, Destroys, Promotions, Moves and Audits per tagged plant. Use RFID to scan tags in bulk for large plant actions or the Zebra scanner for individual tag scanning anytime the in app mobile tag scanner would be used.
Connecting your RFID scanner in Trym
In the Trym Mobile App, select the Connections tab
Then turn on your RFID reader by holding the trigger until it beeps and the blinking blue light appears on the left of the device
Select the device that populates in the RFID reader connection list and confirm the blue blinking light is now a solid blue light
For first time connection with an RFID reader navigate your device Bluetooth setting using the Bluetooth Settings button in the app to choose your device
Once your RFID connection is made and the device shows as selected with the green highlighted scanner name, close your Connections window and open RFID Actions to proceed with your desired action.
Connecting your Zebra Barcode Scanner in Trym
In the Trym Mobile App, select the Connections tab
Turn on the Zebra Scanner by holding the trigger for a few seconds
Once the scanner is on, scan the barcode listed under Barcode Scanner listed below the RFID Reader and Scale connections options
Once connected you will see the barcode scanner highlighted in green in place of the barcode used to connect the device
Once connected navigate to theTag Scanner to start scanning tags for your desired plant actions
Troubleshooting RFID connection in Trym
My RFID reader is not showing up under RFID Reader in Connections?
If this is the first time you are connecting your RFID reader or your RFID reader is not showing under the connections list in the Trym Mobile App, first verify your bluetooth settings are ON for your device.
If the Bluetooth settings are ON for your device, you can also select the RFID reader from your list of devices under the bluetooth settings as shown below.
Does the Zebra Barcode scanner work for Audits?
Currently the Zebra Scanner does not allow audits since the device only scans individual tags. We recommend using the RFID scanner for and Audits in Trym since that device has the capability of picking up groups of tags within the desired range set on the scanner in the Trym Mobile app.
How do I disconnect these devices?
To disconnect either device once they are connected you can select the red X that is located in the name of the highlighted green device name.
