Scale Configuration Overview
Scale configuration is key to achieving a seamless Harvest or Plant Destroy method with our Touchless Harvesting bluetooth scale set up. The configuration allows the scale to send weights from your scale to the Trym Mobile App with a specific configuration process as shown below.
How to configure your scale to Auto-Print (Ranger 3000)
Prerequisites
Must have an Ohaus Scale, these instructions covers the Ohaus Ranger 3000
Ranger 3000 should not be in LFT mode, see switch on underside of scale. If the scale is is LFT mode, the Auto Print function is disabled. If the scale has already been sealed by your local government office, it will need to be unsealed in order set up auto-print or you can set to print mode on stab.
Must have the Trym Mobile Wireless Communication Adapter Kit, purchasing info available on our Hardware Guide
Must have connected bluetooth adapter to scale
Instructions
Ensure that the scale and bluetooth adapter are connected to power
Power on the scale. Press and hold the On/Zero button, first from the left, until the scale turns on.
Hold the M+ / Menu button, fourth from the left, for a couple of seconds until the screen changes to first menu option
Press the Print/Units button, second from left, 5 times until you see the "Print" menu
Press the On/Zero button, first from left, once to enter the "Print" menu
Press the Print/Units button, second from left, 2 times until you see the "APrint" menu
Press the On/Zero button, first from left, once to enter the "APrint" menu
Press the Print/Units button, second from left, 2 times until you see the "Inter" menu
Press the On/Zero button, first from left, once to enter the "Inter" menu
The screen will display a "1", press Press the On/Zero button, first from left, once to accept the value
Press the M+ / Menu button, fourth from the left, to exit

Hold User/Menu button to access the Main Menu
Press the Downward Arrow ⬇️ six times to arrive at the (7) Communication menu and press the Check Mark ✔️ to gain access
Select the RS232 option with the Check Mark ✔️
Click the Downward Arrow ⬇️ to reach Setup and click the Check Mark ✔️
Select Assignment with the Check Mark ✔️

Confirm these Assignment Details:
Interval (Seconds)
Time (1)
Print Option: Printer
Select Template: Custom 1

Edit Template:
Field 1: Result
Field 2: End of Template
Hold User/Menu to Exit
Note: To adjust parameters in step 6 use the Upward/Downward arrows to navigate and the Check Mark to select the options listed above if they are not listed as such while configuring your Ohaus Defender 5000.

Troubleshooting Scale Configuration
What is Legal For Trade mode?
Legal for Trade mode or LFT Mode refers the state of the scale being sealed and certified. This can be checked on the bottom of the Ohaus Ranger 3000 by viewing the red toggle on the front underside of the scale. If the toggle is pushed toward the lock symbol and is sealed your scale is in LFT mode.
My scale won't send weights to Trym Explore
Please verify your scale is connected to your device and auto-print has been configured on your scale. If your scale is not configured please follow the steps above to do so.
My scale won't allow me to configure Auto-Print
Check if your scale is in LFT mode based on the red toggle on the front underside of the Ohaus Ranger 3000. If the scale is locked in LFT mode please use the directions above to configure Auto-Print in LFT mode or unseal your scale and switch the red toggle back to the unlocked position and configure auto-print.
How to configure your scale to Auto-Print in LFT Mode
This option is a go to for scales that have been sealed and certified before they have been configured. If the scale's Legal for Trade (LFT) mode is active before the scale has been configured you can follow the instructions below to achieve Auto-Print.
Note: In this method of configuration you need to consider that the weight of a plant must be stable. It won't send a weight value until the plant is completely stable, so you will need to factor the extra time to stabilize.
Set the scale to print on stable (suggested - see pages 20-21 of the Ohaus manual)
Turn the scale on

Reset the Print Menu
Hold Menu Button
Press Print 4 times to reach PRINT
Click Yes once to reach RESET
Click Yes once more
Press No once to switch to YES
Click Yes once

In the Print menu, set Stable Only to On
Hold Menu Button
Press Print 4 times to reach PRINT
Click Yes once
Click No one to reach STABLE
Click Yes once to reach ON
Click Yes once more to verify

In the Auto-Print menu, set On.Stab. to Load
From Aprint Menu
Click Yes once
Then press No once to reach ON.STAB
Click Yes twice to set LOAD
