What are Workflows
Instead of creating new tasks for very action, workflows in Trym allow you to create those tasks one time and then apply them to any future batches or location as you choose without extra data entry. We offer two options for tasking workflows types.
Batch Workflows are a set of tasks applied to a collection of plants across all lifecycles of plant growth. Plant batches will carry these assigned tasks and seamlessly flow between growth phases to keep your team on task through that batches lifecycle.
Location Workflows are a set of tasks for a specific location that are not specific to plant batch lifecycles but rather to the location they are assigned in and the sequence of tasks preset for that location.

Can I apply Batch Workflows and Location Workflows simultaneously?
These two workflow pathways are not able to be used in tandem. You will need to choose the best one for the needs of your facility.
When does a Location Workflow make more sense to use vs a Batch Workflow?
Batch Workflows are great for monitoring tasks by batch as the tasks will follow the batches through plant life cycles seamlessly to keep your team on track.
Task Workflows are better for keeping a locations set of tasks fluid and editable as well as easier to apply since the plants get the tasks applied once the batch is moved into the location. Choosing or editing the start date of the location workflows make this a flexible option in case any changes occur to your set of tasks during any growth phase.
What are best practices when implementing a Location Workflow?
If you are transitioning from Batch Workflows to Location Workflows, we recommend removing all workflows from your batches that have been previously applied as well as deleting the workflows from your workflows section of your Task/Workflow module.
When creating Location Workflows, consider the tasks prior to the move and the tasks post the move to those locations as that will help determine which tasks to apply to which location.
Location Workflows are a great option for organizations that have separate teams for onsite cultivation and compliance data input. When the teams are not combined, communication can vary and the benefit of preset task sequences with edibility like the start date can make life easier when a series of tasks need to shift a day or two.
Trym allows Editing, Changing, Resetting and Deleting location based workflows to create ease of use when ever you need to make changes to a location based workflow. Reset to day 1, add a new task, change the workflow in that room entirely for a different cultivar. Only a few clicks and you can make the changes you need.
